Mirror Mask by SilverRumRunner Mirror Mask by SilverRumRunner
Here's a mask I made about a year ago. I admit I was inspired by the Jim Henson movie, MirrorMask.

To make this, I used a black mask I got at a party store, hot glue, and broke up a couple round mirrors with a hammer.

Neil Gaiman did MirrorMask, Not Jim Henson...Just thought you should know.

Also, TOTALLY cool mask...I was actually thinking of doing something like this at one point...

Well, I meant Jim Henson Pictures who were a part of making it along with Neil Gaiman. Thanks for the comment :) Glad you like it

I've tried it on but I haven't had the chance to wear it to a party of anything. I would like to. For now, it's just on a shelf for display. Thanks for the favorite! :D

This is soooo weird, I've made a couple of these masks myself and I had no idea anyone else made them like this. I use broken up CDs.

Loverly mask, but you accidentally put it in the 3d art category. :)

Thanks. And I thought 3d was anything with dimension, not flat like 2d on paper. Is 3d just for art that creates the illusion that it has dimension like 3d movies? I thought it counted for tangible objects too. hmm, something I'll think about

No no, you put it in digital art. It should be under sculpture&crafts>artisan crafts>other. :)

Ok I changed it. Thanks for noticing. :) I was new to deviant when I added it and I remember being a bit overwhelmed by the amount of options.

I nicked my fingers a couple times while making it, but never been cut wearing it :) I lined the edges up as smoothly as I could.

Do you mean the bottom of the mask or what the mirrors are attached to? I broke up round shaped mirrors I bought at the craft store. I mostly used the curved edge pieces for the edges of the mask. I attached the mirrors to a cheap mask I bought at the store too. I took my time and tried matching pieces together. I hope that answers your question :)

It has some extra weight, but not too heavy. The elastic strap the mask came with holds it up well enough.
